Have you thought about doing your masters in Photonics? Today I’m sharing a detailed view of the field of photonics with all its application.
WHAT IS PHOTONICS? We may describe photonics as “The physical science of light (photon) generation, detection, and manipulation through emission, transmission, modulation, signal processing, switching, amplification, and sensing”, (Wikipedia). Simply saying, Photonics researches on using the power of light to produce and distribute photons in several processes of development. It is essentially a new, reliable and sustainable way of supporting different industrial processes. The sector has been increasingly developed over the years, increasing the range of areas where it can be applied. In addition, studies show that this technology has immense advantages in terms of knowledge, resources, facilities and scientific achievements of the future generation.
APPLICATIONS The Photonics area encompasses all scientific applications of light from ultraviolet to infrared light across the entire spectrum. In addition, experts use laser lights for light wave circuits and optical fibers in CD players. In conclusion, the object of this science is to understand the propagation and interaction of light and matter. In this way, photonic tools and systems that we can find in various fields and processes can be built up.
In a more detailed look, Photonics is applied in:
Biology & Medicine: primarily for food safety, medical treatments and monitoring of diseases
that need precise equipment and technologies. Photonics, above all, promotes developments in wind
farms and techniques to calculate the performance of processes of combustion.
Innovative technology: as already described, this study is an innovative way to develop new tools
and technologies. Therefore, communities will be able to face future obstacles and problems. For this
reason, it occurs on the basis of replacing or at least through combustion processes in technological
solutions. In addition, the distribution of light can be used to ensure safe contact against terrorist acts.
Other relevant fields where the Photonics is being implemented:
• Aerospace technology
• Agriculture
• Construction
• Engineering
• Micro technology, and Nanotechnology
Career opportunities after the course
• Research & Development: since Photonics research is constantly evolving and growing, you will
be part of important discoveries and developments in both the private and public industries.
• Industrial Processes & Management: this science may, as described above, establish specific
processes that require advanced technology and tools to create products and goods.
