Educational exchange can turn nations into people, contributing as no other form of communication can humanize the international relations. To see one as a citizen of the world, is to maintain one’s sense of place, country, ethnicity, religion and culture while, respecting, learning from, adapting to embracing global diversity. To develop our young generations with values, skills and knowledge to analyse and to solve problems with an international perspective so as to enhance their mobility and employability after graduation, then they become citizens of the world. We live in a rapidly changing world, which is becoming more and more globalised, complex, diversified, and economically, technologically and environmentally enmeshed.
In order to become an active and important part of tomorrow ‘s citizenship , today ‘s students must understand and master diversity , learn how to cooperate with others whether they be local, national , or international and open their minds to the innovation and versatility which comes from intercultural and international experiences. International education provides our future decision makers with the skills and knowledge necessary to become an active part of this ever expanding community of cultures and nations and will give them a head start for a successful and smooth transition from education to professional life. Efficient exploitation of technology will remain a key feature and enabler of growth in education.
The international links forged by studying abroad are possibly one of the biggest reasons why thousands of students go overseas for higher education every year. Attending lectures and classes along within a global community, alongside the opportunity for networking with the likeminded people from various culture, means that opportunities to build an international career after university are increased dramatically. International education cannot be the promise of one country; it is the promise of and responsibility of all nations. Simply encouraging more people to study abroad is not enough, it is equally essential to make sure that they can actually afford it. UAN strives to achieve this by bringing more universities with subsidised fee structures into the forefront and making them more accessible to the world. It’s all about pushing your limits and venturing beyond your comfort zone. Quality education is largely determined by one‘s exposure to intangible elements that consequently shape one‘s thoughts, views and vision for the future in a healthy and positive manner.
